- Leopard 2 is a modern, German main battle tank of the third generation.
- The first prototypes of the vehicle were created in 1973, and serial production started in 1979 and continues to this day.
- As of now (2018), 3480 tanks of this type have been produced.
- Leopard 2 is powered by an MTU MB 873 Ka 501 engine with 1500 hp.
- The vehicle's armament includes a single Rheinmetall Rh-M-120 gun of 120 mm caliber and 2 MG3 machine guns of 7.62 mm caliber.
