It is a mid-stream immunological urine test, simple to use at home, allowing a quick and qualitative reading of the human chorionic gonadotropin hormone (hCG) in the urine, for early identification of pregnancy.

Human chorionic gonadotropin, or hCG, is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by the placenta shortly after fertilization. Detectable in serum as early as 7 days post-conception, its level increases considerably, thus facilitating early detection of pregnancy.

In a normal pregnancy, the hCG level can exceed 100 mIU/ml from the first day of late menstruation and reach between 100,000 and 200,000 mIU/ml during the first 10 to 12 weeks. The rapid evolution of the hCG level makes it a reliable marker for early confirmation of pregnancy.
