Massive Darkness 2: Hellscape is a cooperative board game, a continuation of the big hit from 2017. The game was created by Alex Olteanu (God of War: The Card Game), and its original publisher is CMON. Based on the mechanics of the iconic Zombicide series and improving it, the second part of Massive Darkness will take you into a dark fantasy atmosphere with D&D motifs. A decade has passed since the Undying Darkness was defeated forever. Forever? Of course not! The spheres drifting in the ether of the worlds have collided, and through the cracks of the breaking reality, new waves of demons and angels are flooding humanity with the fiery wrath of war. Could anyone have predicted that after ten years of peace, war would come again? Humanity has matured. The Society of Enlightenment was established, standing guard over the law, good, order, and light. But in the face of colliding worlds, even the greatest heroes are helpless. Reality has been torn apart, and through the cracks in it, battle devastation spreads. The Undying Darkness lifts its head again. Preparing for the fight against the Darkness, choose your Heroes, select for each of them a figure, a character card, and a plastic board. Decide on one of the 11 available Missions and spread the appropriate tiles of the Board on the table. The gameplay will consist of a series of rounds, each divided into 4 phases: Heroes, Enemies, Leveling Up, and Darkness. Also, gather your Starting Equipment, draw 1 Skill card for each character, and head into battle! Each Hero belongs to one of 6 classes: Wizard, Paladin, Berserker, Rogue, Shaman, or Tracker. Having a specific class affects gameplay, introducing certain elements into the game. Each character has two abilities: The Hero’s Ability is permanent, while the Shadow Ability can only be used when a specific symbol is rolled on the dice. Additionally, each Hero has 13 Skill cards that they will acquire over the course of leveling up to the next levels. As you venture deeper into the dungeons, you will face 3 types of enemies: Gangs, Hunting Monsters, and Bosses. Gangs are groups consisting of a Leader and Minions who will hunt you in packs. Hunting Monsters fight alone but are hellishly powerful. Meanwhile, Bosses like the Reaper or Archangel Michael possess unique abilities, and defeating them is often necessary to win a Mission.
