IS-3 Soviet Heavy Tank
The IS-3 tank was first presented to the public during the Victory Parade, which took place on September 7, 1945 in Berlin. Produced from April 1945, the powerful heavy tank was designed to terrify the Western Allies. Weighing over 45 tons, a steel colossus with a large inclination of armor plates, which facilitated the ricocheting of bullets. It was equipped with the 122mm D-25T gun known from the IS-2 tank. Despite its impressive weight, the IS-3 was relatively mobile thanks to its W-11 diesel engine.
The IS-3 brick tank was designed in 1:28 scale and mimics the extremely characteristic rounded shapes of its prototype. Consisting of over 1100 elements, the model is 35.5 cm long after construction. Under the removable tower with a basket there are reproduced elements of the interior. Under the service hatch, you can place a brick replica of the W-11 tank engine. There are also blocks with periscope prints on the tower. The very difficult shapes of the tank have been recreated with the help of the latest elements created for the COBI Historical Collection! Tracked traction works when the tank is moving. The turret rotates and the barrel rises and lowers! The set includes a figure of a Soviet tanker in a characteristic navy blue suit.
The real IS-3 tank was created as a response to the German heavy tanks. The brick model will look great on the shelf in the company of the largest German and American vehicles from the COBI Historical Collection!
