Become a famous explorer in this expanded strategic game! In 1739, Georges-Louis Leclerc, also known as the Count de Buffon, was appointed custodian of the royal cabinet of natural history. That’s when he began working on the greatest work of his life - an encyclopedia that had a tremendous impact on the Enlightenment: Histoire Naturelle (Natural History).
You are one of the leading naturalists and travelers of your time, and you have just been invited by the Count de Buffon to help complete his Encyclopedia. Conduct research and organize ambitious expeditions that will allow for the publication of descriptions of the most fascinating beings of our globe.
The Encyclopedia is a strategic game for 14 explorers with a dice placement mechanic. During the game, players will choose dice and place them on the board, taking various actions depending on their values and colors. Interestingly, players can use both their own dice and those of their opponents, providing interaction between players.
The first edition includes a limited mini-expansion Sepultus Creatura, which will allow investigating the unusual and gigantic dice of a long-extinct species of animals now known as Dinosaurs.
