Fonia NICAM F15B = F15A - description

The F15B decoder allows reception of all audio standards broadcasted in Poland, including NICAM stereo. In the decoder, digital processing of the received signal occurs, ensuring very good sound quality. After installing the decoder in the TV receiver, it takes over all functions of the audio channel, except for volume, tone, and balance control. The decoder is designed to operate in two basic configurations:
Configuration I is intended for stereophonic receivers using the internal amplifier and speakers of the receiver. All original functions of the receiver are retained.
Configuration II is intended for monophonic receivers and requires cooperation with external stereophonic audio equipment. Adjustment of audio parameters is carried out through an external amplifier.
The decoder automatically recognizes the standard of the received audio and can signal its type (mono, stereo, two sounds). To facilitate connecting the decoder to various TV receivers, several plates of additional equipment have been designed. Using these plates, the decoder can be connected to most stereophonic or monophonic receivers. The F15B decoder can also be installed in A2 system stereo VCRs, expanding their capabilities for NICAM reception.

or with a single voltage from 12V to 18V / 150mA using additional DC5 converter.

differential audio frequency signal from the output of the audio detector (S.IF), optimal input voltage - 100mVpp - 300mVpp
or intermediate frequency signal (IF) from the output of the TV receiver tuner,
with the use of an additional amplifier board P17.
- Audio output signal: typically 0.7V rms
- Dimensions: width 96.5mm x depth 69mm x height: min. 17mm max. 48mm, dependent on additional equipment plates.
