Boeing 747 First Flight 1969
On February 9, 1969, the most famous and at the same time one of the largest long-range jet passenger planes took to the air for the first time. The Boeing 747, also known as the "Jumbo Jet" was designed by the American company Boeing in the 60s and entered commercial use in 1970. Its distinctive appearance, with the main passenger deck located on top of the fuselage, is its hallmark. The Boeing 747 is one of the largest passenger aircraft in the world and can accommodate more than 600 passengers in a typical configuration. It was initially used primarily on intercontinental routes, but is now in service with many airlines around the world. The last Boeing 747 was produced on December 6, 2022. Over 54 years, a total of 1574 Jumbo Jets were built in various versions!
