On February 9, 1969, the most famous and at the same time one of the largest long-range jet passenger planes took to the air for the first time. The Boeing 747, also known as the "Jumbo Jet" was designed by the American company Boeing in the 60s and entered commercial use in 1970. The Boeing 747 is one of the largest passenger aircraft in the world and can accommodate more than 600 passengers in a typical configuration.
